@kagemomiji has been away for longer periods, then suddenly appearing again, in the past more often.

I always thought it had something to do with vacation-work scheduling but open source burnout is a very real thing, especially 'on your own'

Still no news.... :(
Myself I'm considering moving away. I don't care so much about new features, but security is important to me... Someone found a good alternative? Navidrome doesn't do it for me, the whole reason I use subsonic (and it's followups/forks) is the folder structure approach.

But ... I much prefer Airsonic, as it does exactly what I want. I thank @kagemomiji for his time in maintaining. I hope he is allright.

Annoyingly I paid the Subsonic lifetime license back in the day, only to go from 6.1.5 and then 6.1.6 where the developer vanished, as we know. Also figured out a way to crack Subsonic's checks after that happened. (its just an md5 hash of the users email, if you set up nginx and a dns entry to get subsonic.org to talk back to you; easy peasy.)

But that was back in school and with the little community for music and finding weird CDs/media to archive there is still nothing like Airsonic and its derivatives.

From Subsonic to Airsonic to Airsonic Advanced to Kage's fork has kept the ball rolling for almost 7 years now but with that also comes the fact we've found nothing else like it that works this universally. The entire 4TB library (even down to dads old iTunes rips from 2008) is entirely built for this platform :P

I'm still trying to stick with airsonic-advanced, but I also tested gonic. It covers almost all the features airsonic-advanced provides, and since it runs natively, it's much faster.

The problem I have....I can't find a client that has the simple, but very effective, sidebar like Subsonic/Airsonic has. I just want to simply have a sidebar with a dropdown of all my different folders and the artist list below it....

I'm also a current user of Airsonic. I also thought about migrating away to gonic or Navidrome, but none met my requirements so far.

As I'm a professional Java developer, I'm thinking about investing some free time into Airsonic to keep it alive. Preferably, I would contribute here to @kagemomiji 's fork / repo to not confuse users more by creating the next fork.
